Jain Community Secures Rs 21.5 Crore Discount on 190 Luxury Cars in Nationwide JITO Initiative (Jan–June 2025)

In a remarkable show of collective buying power, members of the Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) pulled off a nationwide luxury car deal earlier this year—saving an impressive Rs 21.5 crore in total discounts. Between January and June 2025, JITO’s 65,000-strong membership worked together to purchase 190 high-end vehicles from BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz, with each car priced between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 1.5 crore.

The initiative, described by JITO vice president Himanshu Shah as a “one-of-its-kind deal,” saw cars delivered to buyers across India, although the majority hailed from Gujarat—particularly Ahmedabad. According to sources, 30 of the 190 cars were snapped up by members based in Gujarat. The average savings per car ranged from Rs 8 lakh to Rs 17 lakh, which, as JITO’s Nitin Jain joked, was “enough to buy another car for a family member.”

Collective Buying Power Drives Massive Savings

The idea for this mega-purchase began when a few JITO members suggested leveraging the organization’s large, tightly-knit network to negotiate better deals directly with luxury carmakers. As word of the discounts spread, more members jumped on board, and soon the collective bargaining effort gathered pace. Automakers, seeing a win-win in moving inventory without spending on marketing, agreed to substantial discounts for the group.

JITO’s approach wasn’t just about cars. Buoyed by the success of this deal, the non-profit has since launched ‘Utsav’, a broader initiative striking similar arrangements for premium goods—ranging from jewellery and electronics to consumer durables.

Community Drives Economic Empowerment

Founded in 2007, JITO has long focused on economic empowerment for the Jain community, which boasts over 30,000 active members nationwide and 5,000 in Gujarat alone. “We use community buying so that our members can trade and purchase products as per their needs,” said Prakshal Shah, JITO’s Co-Convenor. The latest luxury car deal not only highlights the strength of unity but also sets a new benchmark for what’s possible when communities organize around shared economic interests.

With luxury automakers reportedly selling more pre-owned cars than new ones in 2024, this bulk-buying drive demonstrates how organized communities can still command attention—and big savings—even in a rapidly shifting auto market.
