After a relatively quiet 2025 with just one new model— the Victoris midsize SUV— Maruti Suzuki is set to roar back into the limelight in 2026. According to industry sources and reports from Autocar India, India’s largest automaker will introduce four new cars next year, marking a strategic shift with a strong focus on green technology.

The Big Launches: e Vitara and Second EV

Kicking things off in January 2026, Maruti Suzuki’s highly anticipated maiden electric vehicle, the e Vitara, will finally hit Indian roads. The e Vitara is designed to take on rivals like the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Vinfast VF6, and Tata Curvv EV. Buyers will get to choose between two battery packs – 49kWh and 61kWh – both in a front-wheel-drive layout. Maruti claims a range of 543km for the e Vitara, an impressive figure that’s likely to appeal to road-trippers and city commuters alike. Safety isn’t an afterthought either — the electric SUV comes with a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating.

Hot on the heels of the e Vitara comes Maruti’s second electric offering, codenamed ‘YMC’. This one’s basically an electric MPV built on the e Vitara’s platform but reworked to seat six or seven passengers, putting it squarely up against the upcoming Kia Carens EV. Expect the familiar choice of 49kWh or 61kWh batteries and a real-world range in the ballpark of 500–550km— no range anxiety here.

Flex-Fuel for Fronx and a Brezza Facelift

Responding to the talk surrounding E20 (20% ethanol blend) and higher blends, Maruti Suzuki’s Fronx will be India’s first mainstream model compatible with up to E85 (85% ethanol, 15% petrol). Under the hood sits the trusted 1.5-litre petrol engine—offered in both manual and automatic flavors—as well as a space-saving underbody CNG option similar to what’s seen in the Victoris.

And let’s not forget the facelifted Brezza. With the second-gen Brezza approaching its fourth birthday, Maruti is giving its compact SUV a mid-life update to keep it fresh against a growing list of competitors including the Hyundai Venue 2nd gen, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and Skoda Kylaq. No radical changes under the bonnet: the reliable 1.5-litre petrol, plenty of CNG, and likely the same manual/automatic choices.

As Maruti Suzuki bounces back to its familiar multi-launch strategy, 2026 looks set to be a monumental year for the brand—especially for buyers wanting greener, more innovative choices that don’t compromise on practicality or value.
