Tragedy struck the Iqbalgadh National Highway in Banaskantha district, Gujarat, on Saturday, January 24, when a speeding truck barreled down the wrong side of the Palanpur–Abu Highway and collided head-on with an Innova SUV. The violent crash, which occurred near Iqbalgarh, left seven people dead at the scene and three others—two men and a woman—critically injured. All the victims were reportedly residents of Rajasthan, traveling together when disaster struck.

Authorities say the truck, heading from Gujarat toward Rajasthan, jumped the road divider before smashing directly into the oncoming Innova. “The collision was serious. The car was mangled, and passengers had no chance to escape,” a police officer on the scene told reporters. The impact was so severe that the truck itself overturned, leaving behind a scene of utter devastation.
