Mahindra & Mahindra is turning up the heat in India’s electric SUV game, with the all-new Mahindra XEV 7e spotted testing at public charging stations and gearing up for its big debut within the next six months. Set to be the electric sibling of the popular XUV700, the XEV 7e will sit on the advanced INGLO platform, the same foundation found in Mahindra’s XEV 9e and BE 6, marking a significant leap for the brand’s electric ambitions.
500km Range, Dual-Motor Power, and Next-Gen Features
The XEV 7e isn’t just any three-row electric SUV. It’s expected to offer two battery options, with higher variants capable of delivering over 500km on a single charge. DC fast charging support is baked in, keeping charging pit stops short and sweet. While the XEV 9e sticks to rear-wheel drive, the XEV 7e will go a step further with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant—offering city-friendly smoothness as well as highway-ready punch.
Design-wise, the XEV 7e takes heavy inspiration from the XUV.e8 concept, sporting a closed-off grille, bold LED daytime running lights, striking full-width LED light bars at the rear, and aerodynamic alloy wheels to squeeze out every extra kilometer of range. Production-ready images that leaked online earlier this year confirm these high-tech, premium vibes.
Tech-Forward Cabin With Triple Screens and Premium Audio
Step inside the XEV 7e, and you’re greeted by a cabin that’s all about comfort and cutting-edge tech. The highlight? A triple 12.3-inch screen dashboard—one each for the driver, infotainment, and co-passenger. The premium experience continues with Dolby Atmos support, multi-zone climate control, a Harman Kardon 16-speaker system, and a new two-spoke steering wheel. These touches make it clear that Mahindra wants to set a new luxury benchmark for Indian EVs.
Mahindra has yet to reveal detailed specs on power output or pricing, but it’s clear the XEV 7e is positioned to compete at the upper end of the mainstream EV market. The new SUV is expected to share its LFP batteries and electric motors with the XEV 9e and BE 6, ensuring robust performance and reliability.
With the facelifted XUV700 also slated for early next year, Mahindra’s electric push isn’t slowing down. The XEV 7e is expected to hit showrooms in early 2026, and if it delivers on its promises, it could seriously shake up the Indian EV scene.
