We Love Internet and Reliance is making our way easy and fast by connecting us to its Jio Network, which was launched in September 2016. Jio already have more than 300 million subscribers in India. Now Reliance is about to enter in Home Broadband Services with its “Jio GigaFiber” for commercial users in the country.
The GigaFiber services will include home broadband, entertainment, smart home solutions and more. However Reliance was planning the launch of this service since August last year. The Plan is to roll out this service in 1600 cities across the country. The Company has acquired DEN Networks and Hathway Cable to play an important role in Reliance JioGigaFiber service.
Reliance Chairman Mr. Mukesh Ambani said “After successful execution of mobility business, Jio is now focused on catapulting India’s under served Home & Enterprise connectivity market to global standards with its next-generation FTTX services”. Beta testing for Jio GigaFiber FTTH broadband is already done in some cities and it is successful.
Reliance offered this beta testing service to public within a Preview offer in which consumers had to pay Rs 4,500 and can enjoy up to 100Mbps of speeds with 100GB data. Consumers can still use it until the service is available commercially. The commercials/advertisements for Jio GigaFiber are expected to appear quite soon by the company, plans and charges of the broadband service will also be revealed soon.
The Company is also testing a plan related to GigaFiber called “Triple Play” in which consumers get 100GB of high-speed data, unlimited voice calling and free subscription to Jio Home TV. The subscription also comes with a free subscription to Jio Apps. Reliance has some great plans for India in the field of internet and we are seeing the implementation of these plans gradually.
