Houston Tragedy: 1-Year-Old Killed in Apartment Parking Lot

In southwest Houston Friday night, a 1-year-old boy lost his life after a security guard struck him with a vehicle inside an apartment complex. Police said the boy’s family was packing up their car when the toddler slipped away and darted into the roadway. The security guard, who was patrolling the area, hit the child with his car. Both the guard and the boy’s father immediately called 911 and attempted emergency first aid before rushing the child toward the front of the complex to meet first responders. Despite their efforts, the child could not be saved.

Reading Hit-and-Run: Child Struck in Crosswalk

Earlier on Friday morning in Reading, Pennsylvania, a child was hit by a black Nissan while walking to school in a crosswalk. The driver did not stop and fled the scene, prompting an urgent search by local authorities. The child’s current condition has not been disclosed, and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Driver-in-Training Hits Pedestrians in Connecticut Mall

Meanwhile, in Trumbull, Connecticut, police are investigating an accident that occurred Saturday morning in the Trumbull Mall parking lot. An initial investigation found that a “new” driver in training accelerated and struck an adult woman and a child in a stroller near the Macy’s store. Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation. The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Details on the extent of the victims’ injuries have not yet been released.
