Recently on Xiaomi’s Chinese blog, they announced the latest and the fastest wireless charger with 80W charging technology. Xiaomi is not new in manufacturing fast charging technologies, they already have a 55W wireless charger in the market which is launched in august alongside the Mi 10 Ultra.
This time they revealed an 80W charger that can charge a 4000mAh battery in just 19 minutes and It can take the battery from 0 to 50 in just 8 minutes. The new charger has enhanced charging capabilities, but the look of the charger looks to be the same as the 55W charger.
Moreover, a video was uploaded on Xiaomi’s Youtube channel yesterday showcasing its new 80W wireless charger, it charges the Mi 10 Pro with modifications from 0 to 10 percent in just 60 seconds.
To get such fast charging speeds, Xiaomi created an enhanced architecture for wireless charging with a dedicated chip along with a separate coil system and some more improvements in the hardware as well as in the software to deliver the 80W fast charging.
We can expect this technology to be available in early 2021 with the launch of Xiaomi’s next flagship namely the Mi 11 lineup. Xiaomi seems quite interested in fast charging technologies hence they are launching their new wireless chargers with improved capabilities every few months.
