Redmi Y3 launched: price starts Rs. 9,990 features 32MP Selfie camera & Snapdragon 625 SoC

Today the successor of Redmi Y2 is finally launched in India – the Redmi Y3. The ‘Y’ series smartphones by Redmi are Selfie-centric, means the company aims to provide best selfie camera phone under budget price like Rs.10,000. Over the past two weeks, Redmi Y3 was teased with 32 MP Selfie Camera on twitter by Xiaomi’s India MD Manu Kumar Jain.

As suggested by the released specifications, the Redmi Y3 features a 19:9 ratio 6.26 inch HD+ dot Notch display with IPS LCD technology that beholds the 32MP selfie camera. The Display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 with 2.5D curved glass on top. The Redmi Y3 has curved frame and rounded corners with Gradient finish design and it is available in three colors- Prime Black, Bold Red, and Elegant Blue.

The primary attention of the Redmi Y3 is said to be its “32MP Super Selfie” camera, which features AI beauty, Portrait mode, Auto HDR, Electronic Image Stabilization, and 360 degree face unlock. It can record video up to 1080p at 30fps. The Rear Camera comprises of 12MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture which is followed by a 2MP depth Sensor, it can record video up to 1080p at 60fps. Both Cameras can recognize 33 different scenes including 6 India specific also both cameras supports Google Lens.

Under the hood, the Redmi Y3 is powered by the Octa core 14nm Snapdragon 625 SoC with Adreno 506 GPU. On the storage front, the device comes in two variants that include – a 3GB+ 32GB variant and 4GB+ 64GB variant respectively, both variants comes with storage expansion up to 512GB. The latest budget Selfie centric Redmi is fueled by a decent 4000mAh battery. The Redmi Y3 runs on the MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box.

Additionally, the device is Splash proof and as mentioned earlier it has new AI 360-degree face unlock and fingerprint sensor at the back. Talking about the dimensions the Redmi Y3 is 158.6mm tall and 76.4mm wide. As for the pricing, the company had launched the Redmi Y3 at Rs. 9,990 for (3GB+32GB) variant, Rs 11,999 for the bigger (6GB+64GB) variant, both will be sold by Amazon India.
